The suspension of Sri Lanka Cricket, which was put in place last November due to significant violations of the ICC Member obligations, most notably the mandate to independently manage affairs without government intervention in cricket governance, was immediately lifted, as announced today by the International Cricket Council Board.

The reports indicate that the ICC kept a close eye on SLC's development during the suspension period, and now that the suspension's causes have been satisfactorily resolved, the ICC has lifted the ban on cricket-related activities in Sri Lanka in recognition of the board's progress.
With the suspension removed, Sri Lanka may resume its active involvement in international cricket, which will delight the cricket community and signify a renewed focus on independent management. The reinstatement is a great development for the Sri Lankan cricket community.
