With barely one month to go before the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) begins, Peshawar Zalmi has excited supporters by announcing that former West Indies captain Darren Sammy will be the league's head coach.
Darren Sammy, a former teammate, was cordially welcomed back by Zalmi in a touching post on X (previously Twitter). In response, Sammy wrote, "Can not wait to join my Zalmi family. Eager and ready to fight for another title with my men in yellow."
The relationship that Darren Sammy has with Zalmi is quite strong because he won the team championship in 2017 while captaining them in PSL 2 and served as their head coach for a number of seasons.

In addition to leading Peshawar Zalmi, Darren Sammy was a fantastic batsman who helped the team win past seasons by making important runs.
As one of the best teams in the PSL, Peshawar Zalmi took home the championship in 2017 and finished third three times in 2018, 2019, and 2021.
